About Moto X3M

Moto X3M is the motocross stunt game that started a whole series. Ukrainian studio Madpuffers released it in May 2015 as a Flash game, and it was later rebuilt in HTML5. You ride a dirt bike across side-on obstacle courses packed with loops, saw blades, TNT and collapsing bridges. The clock starts the moment you move, and your finish time decides whether you earn one, two or three stars.

How a level plays

Each track is a short, handcrafted run. Your goal is to reach the finish line as quickly as possible without the rider’s head touching the ground. A crash isn’t the end, because you respawn at the last checkpoint. The timer keeps running, though, so every crash costs you stars. The original game has 22 levels, and they get harder steadily: early tracks teach ramps and landings, later ones mix moving platforms, explosives and timing puzzles. Collecting stars unlocks new bikes, which change how your rider looks.

Controls

  • Up arrow / W: accelerate
  • Down arrow / S: brake and reverse
  • Left, Right arrows / A, D: lean back and forward (balance and flips)

Leaning is the key input. In the air, it decides how you land. On the ground, leaning back lifts the front wheel over small bumps.

Flips save time

Moto X3M rewards style. Every full rotation in the air knocks a little time off your result, and Madpuffers designed many jumps with that in mind. A backflip off a big ramp can be the difference between two and three stars. Don’t overdo it, though: a flip that takes longer than the time it saves, or ends in a crash, loses you more than it gains.

Tips for three stars

  • Learn the track first, then race it. On a first run, ride cautiously to spot traps. Many hazards (falling logs, swinging blades, trapdoors) only trigger when you get close.
  • Land on both wheels. A clean two-wheel landing keeps your speed. Landing nose-first or on the back wheel only slows you down or throws you off.
  • Feather the throttle before loops and moving obstacles. Full speed is not always fastest. Some saws and pistons need a short wait to pass safely.
  • Restart instead of limping on. If an early mistake ruins a run, restart the level. Respawning from a checkpoint never recovers the lost seconds.
  • Watch for shortcuts. Speedrunners have found several routes that skip parts of a track. Experimenting with a big jump can pay off.

The Moto X3M series

The original was followed by sequels with new themes. Three are on TotoyaPlay: Moto X3M Winter, with snow, ice and a Christmas theme, Moto X3M Pool Party, set at a summer water park, and Moto X3M Spooky Land, a Halloween edition. They share the same controls, so skills carry over directly. For more two-wheeled games, open our bike games category.

Why it is still popular

Ten years on, Moto X3M is still a reference for browser bike games. The levels are short, so a run takes under a minute, and you can restart instantly. Each track has a clear target to beat. The physics are predictable enough that you always know why you crashed, and that makes the “one more try” loop very hard to put down.
